What is Pilates?
Pilates is a group exercise class based on the original findings of Joseph Pilates.
It focuses on improving the strength, posture, balance and stability of a healthy adult and on relearning the mind and body to activate the deep tummy (core) muscles to allow the body to optimally function in both working and leisure activities.
Pilates aims to:
- Increase muscular balance
- Increase muscular strength
- Increase muscle tone
- Improve posture
This class can be a mixture of standing and mat work and is aimed at mixed abilities, suitable for both men and women.
Who is Pilates for?
My Pilates classes are for those healthy adults wanting to improve their posture, increase their muscle strength and muscle tone and balance. My classes are suitable for mixed abilities.
It is also ideal for post natal mums, as it works the pelvic floor (essential after normal and caesarean section) and tones abdominal muscles from deep inside.
